Small and medium-sized businesses in the UAE could soon find it easier to secure credit, after fintech firm Abhi and payments infrastructure provider NymCard announced a partnership aimed at helping banks and licensed financial institutions scale their SME lending.

The deal brings together Abhi's business financial solutions, delivered through its embedded finance platform, with NymCard's card and payments infrastructure, which already serves institutions across the Middle East. Abhi is known for earned wage access and related fintech tools, while NymCard focuses on the payments rails that many regional lenders rely on.

What the partnership covers

The combined offering is designed to support the full SME credit journey, from digital onboarding and origination through to decisioning and disbursement. These stages have historically been fragmented, often requiring lenders to stitch together separate systems and vendors to move a business loan application from application to payout.

With Abhi and NymCard's technologies integrated, banks and financial institutions can onboard SME customers, process their applications, and reach credit decisions more quickly. The goal is to let lenders introduce and scale SME credit products without having to build and connect multiple components themselves.

Why it matters for UAE lenders

For UAE financial institutions looking to grow their SME lending books, the partnership offers a way to shortcut the technical groundwork typically needed to launch new credit products. Rather than assembling onboarding, decisioning, and disbursement tools separately, lenders can draw on a single combined infrastructure covering each stage.

A representative from the partnership said, "There is a significant opportunity for technology to transform how SME credit is delivered in the UAE." They added, "By combining Abhi's technology with NymCard's platform, we can simplify the credit journey and serve SMEs more efficiently."

The partnership positions both companies to work directly with UAE banks and licensed financial institutions seeking to modernise how they extend credit to small and medium enterprises, a segment that often faces slower, more manual lending processes compared with larger corporate clients.

By addressing onboarding, decisioning, and disbursement as a connected process rather than separate steps, Abhi and NymCard aim to reduce the operational burden on lenders while giving SMEs faster access to the financing they need to operate and grow.
