Five Arab information ministers will travel to Dubai in September 2026 for the Arab Media Summit, an event the organising committee is calling the largest in its history.

The Arab Media Summit Organising Committee has confirmed that Ministers of Information from Egypt, Syria, Bahrain, Jordan and Lebanon will take part. The gathering runs from 15 to 17 September 2026 in Dubai.

The summit takes place under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the directives of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.

Who is attending

The confirmed ministers are Diaa Rashwan of Egypt, Dr. Khaled Zaarour of Syria, Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al-Noaimi of Bahrain, Paul Morcos of Lebanon and Dr. Mohammad Momani of Jordan. Their participation places the summit firmly on the calendar for anyone tracking Arab media policy and government communication in the region.

Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, President of the Dubai Press Club and Chairperson of the Arab Media Summit Organising Committee, framed the stakes for the industry. "The media's role now extends beyond reporting events to helping societies navigate change, build trust and strengthen the Arab voice in an increasingly competitive global landscape," she said.

She added: "The region needs a media sector capable of understanding and explaining change, while contributing to stability and development and presenting the region's story from its own perspective, with the professionalism needed to earn public trust and compete globally."

What the programme includes

Beyond the ministerial sessions, the Arab Media Summit 2026 will host a set of specialised events under one roof. These include the Arab Media Forum, the Government Communication Forum, the Arab Youth Media Forum, the Arab Social Media Influencers Summit, the Films Forum, the Games Forum and Dubai PodFest.

That spread signals a summit designed to cover traditional broadcast and print media alongside newer formats such as gaming, podcasting and social media influence, bringing government officials into direct contact with content creators and industry professionals across the Arab world.

Why it matters for Dubai

Hosting five sitting information ministers, alongside forums touching youth media, government communication and digital platforms, reinforces Dubai's position as a regional convening point for media policy discussions. For businesses and professionals in the UAE's media, marketing and content sectors, the summit's growth into what organisers describe as its largest edition yet suggests a wider draw of regional decision-makers and industry figures to the city in September 2026.
