Breadfast has launched Breadfast Food, a new restaurant delivery service built into its existing app, following a successful beta period. The move turns the Egypt-based platform, already known for groceries, bakery, coffee, and pharmacy delivery, into a broader everyday convenience service that now includes meals from a curated selection of restaurants.

For customers, the change means one less app to juggle. Anyone already ordering groceries or coffee through Breadfast can now add restaurant meals to the same basket, with exclusive offers and discounts on Breadfast Food updated daily.

Why Breadfast is betting on restaurant delivery

Muhammad Habib, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Breadfast, said the expansion reflects how customers actually think about their daily needs. "Our customers don't think about groceries, meals, coffee, or personal care as separate services. They simply want the easiest and most reliable way to get everything they need in their daily lives. That's the thinking behind Breadfast Food. It brings together customers' favourite restaurants, exclusive daily offers and discounts, and a fast, reliable delivery experience within the Breadfast platform. As we continue to grow, we'll keep expanding our services by bringing more everyday services to the platform while expanding our presence across Egypt. In doing so, we'll create more opportunities for our partners, generate more jobs, and move closer to our vision of building Egypt's leading everyday convenience platform."

His comments point to a strategy built around consolidation rather than competition on a single category. Rather than launching a standalone food delivery app, Breadfast is folding restaurant orders into the same platform where users already shop for groceries and other essentials.

What it means for jobs and growth

The launch is expected to create hundreds of new job opportunities for delivery riders as Breadfast Food scales up. The company has said it plans to expand the service to more governorates across Egypt beyond its current availability, suggesting the rollout so far has been limited in geographic scope.

The addition of restaurant delivery follows what Breadfast describes as a successful beta period, during which the service was tested before the wider launch. With groceries, bakery, coffee, pharmacy, and now restaurant delivery all sitting under one app, Breadfast is positioning itself less as a single-category delivery company and more as a general convenience platform for daily life in Egypt.

For now, the expansion is focused on Egypt, where Breadfast has built its customer base across its existing services. Whether the restaurant delivery arm reaches the same scale as its grocery and bakery business will likely depend on how quickly it can add governorates and restaurant partners in the months ahead.
