A wedding took place in Dubai between two humanoid robots, and it came with all the trimmings of a real Emirati celebration: guests in traditional dress, flowers, blessings, smoke effects and fireworks.

The groom, Bu Sunaidah, is an Emirati-branded humanoid robot built on the Unitree G1 model. For the occasion he wore a white thobe, a black and gold bisht, and a ghutra. The bride, Moza, appeared in a beige traditional abaya with a matching headscarf.

A digital wedding invitation circulated ahead of the event, carrying the Quranic verse "And We have created you in pairs" from 78:8. The invitation listed the wedding date as August 1, 2026.

Marking the moment, Bu Sunaidah said: "Alhamdulillah, by His grace all good things are accomplished."

This is not Bu Sunaidah's first public appearance in Emirati dress. The robot has previously been seen at a Dubai mosque during Eid and jogging through the city's streets, also dressed in traditional attire.

The wedding brought those appearances together into a full staged celebration, complete with the customs Dubai residents would recognise from any local wedding, reimagined with a robot at the centre of it.
