Before the towers, trade flowed through Dubai Creek. The split between Bur Dubai (south) and Deira (north) is still the city's most walkable history lesson.

Morning — Bur Dubai
- Al Fahidi heritage lanes
- Textile Souk near Bur Dubai abra station
Cross the Creek
Pay the abra operator about AED 2 — minutes to Deira.
Afternoon — Deira
- Gold Souk — gold prices track international rates; making charges are negotiable
- Spice Souk — saffron, dried lime, oud samples
Metro Al Ghubaiba, Sharaf DG, or Baniyas Square on the Green Line reduce taxi needs.
