Dubai Retail has announced The Yard, a new retail and lifestyle destination planned for Palm Jebel Ali, marking the first such development on the reclaimed island. The project is scheduled to open in 2027 and is designed to serve residents of the surrounding communities as they grow.
The Yard will span approximately 70,000 square feet of gross leasable area and bring together 26 concepts spanning retail, dining, wellness, and healthcare. Dubai Retail expects the destination to serve around 20,000 residents from the wider Palm Jebel Ali area once operational.
What's coming to The Yard
Confirmed brands set to open at The Yard include Waitrose, American Hospital, Piccoli, Jumeirah International Nursery, Bateel Café and Friends Avenue. Together, the lineup covers everyday essentials, healthcare, dining, and family-focused services for people living nearby.
McLaren Construction L.L.C. has been appointed as the main contractor for the development.
Waterfront design and communal spaces
The Yard has been designed around open terraces and communal gathering spaces, with direct links to a waterfront promenade. The layout is intended to give residents outdoor areas to gather alongside the retail and lifestyle offerings on site.
A growing portfolio for Dubai Retail
With The Yard added to its roster, Dubai Retail's portfolio now extends to 57 malls and lifestyle destinations across Dubai. The addition reflects the company's continued expansion into new residential areas of the city, with Palm Jebel Ali representing one of its newer community-focused projects.
For residents of Palm Jebel Ali and surrounding communities, The Yard is set to become a key point of reference for daily errands, healthcare visits, dining out, and time spent outdoors along the waterfront once it opens in 2027.
