Dubai's Robotaxi service has now covered more than 4 million kilometres and carried 7,613 passenger trips since launch, a milestone officials say marks real progress toward making a quarter of all journeys in the emirate autonomous by the end of the decade.
The figures were shared by Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of the Corporate Technology Support Services Sector and Chair of the Autonomous Transport and Aerial Taxi Committee at Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority. "The Robotaxi service currently has a fleet of 144 vehicles, including 48 vehicles in active operation, completing around 50 trips daily," he said. "Most notably, the service has achieved a 97% customer satisfaction rate, reflecting strong acceptance of the technology and the quality of customer experience."
What the numbers mean for riders
Of the 144 vehicles in the fleet, 48 are currently active on Dubai's roads, together completing roughly 50 trips a day. The 97% satisfaction score suggests riders are largely comfortable with the driverless experience, an important signal as RTA looks to scale the service across a city of more than 4 million residents.
The Robotaxi rollout sits within a broader autonomous mobility push. RTA has partnered with Baidu's Apollo Go, WeRide, and Pony.ai to develop the sector further. Notably, Baidu's fully driverless Apollo Go vehicles are already available to riders through the Uber platform in Dubai, with New Horizon Luxury Transport acting as the fleet operator on the ground.
