Abu Dhabi investors Shorooq and Presight have backed a USD 100 million Series A funding round for Maven Robotics, a California-based startup building industrial robots for warehouse and logistics work.
The two firms participated through the Presight Shorooq AI Fund and the Bedaya Fund. Other investors in the round include RoboStrategy, LocalGlobe, Vine Ventures, and XTX Ventures.
What Maven Robotics builds
Founded in 2024, Maven develops wheeled, dual-armed robots designed for industrial tasks such as palletizing and tote handling. The new capital will go toward producing 250 units of its third generation robots and developing a fourth generation robot system.
Who is behind the investment
Presight is an Abu Dhabi-based applied AI company and part of G42. Shorooq is a multi-strategy investment firm active across venture capital, credit, private equity, and real assets.
The deal adds to a growing list of UAE investment activity in robotics and applied AI, with Abu Dhabi-linked funds extending their reach into US-based industrial technology companies. For Maven, the funding is aimed squarely at scaling manufacturing of its current robot line while pushing development of its next generation system.
