If you live around Nad Al Sheba, your neighbourhood is about to get a lot more convenient. The Grand, a new community mall in Nad Al Sheba Garden, opens on August 19, and the lineup leans heavily on names locals already know and a few genuine debuts.
On the food side, Tashas is expanding to The Grand, with some dishes exclusive to this branch. Kokoro, the hand roll concept that built a following through pop-up appearances at Nad Al Sheba's The Square during the cooler months, is turning that into a permanent Dubai location here. Blu, already a favourite at Nad Al Sheba Mall, is bringing its Neapolitan-style pizzas and Middle Eastern-influenced dishes to the new space.
Bakeries get real estate too. Home Bakery, which already operates across the UAE, is opening a branch, and Bake My Day is taking the leap into its first-ever physical location. Bake My Day started life in 2014 as a WhatsApp order-only concept before launching an online store in 2021, so this marks a genuine milestone for the brand rather than just another outlet on a growing list.
For everyday errands, Waitrose is opening a supermarket at The Grand, and MMI is opening for alcohol sales, which between them should cover most of the weekly shop.
Beauty and fitness are represented too. Tips & Toes, the Dubai-born beauty brand, is setting up at The Grand, while FitCode is opening its third branch in Nad Al Sheba with what's described as state-of-the-art fitness facilities, specialised studios, and dedicated recovery and wellness facilities.
On the homeware front, Heart Cottage Lane is opening its third store at The Grand, following locations in Arjan and Town Centre Jumeirah. The home decor and interiors brand was founded by Lucy Gibson, who also runs the resortwear label Sand Dollar, and its arrival gives the mall a design-focused anchor alongside the food and fitness offerings.
Taken together, it is a lineup built for daily life rather than a destination outing: groceries, a gym, a beauty salon, a decor shop, and enough bakeries and restaurants to cover breakfast through dinner without leaving the neighbourhood. For residents of Nad Al Sheba Garden and the surrounding area, The Grand looks set to become the kind of mall you visit weekly rather than occasionally, with August 19 marking the first chance to see it all in one place.
